May Happenings–Looking to June!–Important Notice

The Central Sierra Arts Council is excited to introduce a new vision for the arts in Tuolumne County. Our new offices, classrooms and gallery are now at the Historic Dome Campus, 251 Barretta St.
These changes require new Articles of Incorporation, as well as the adoption of new By-Laws. The corporation’s new name and bylaws will be adopted at the Annual Meeting in June.  Follow this link: http://www.centralsierraarts.org/bylaws/ to get the details.

We are so pleased that ARTS CAMP (held at Columbia State Park in June) is totally filled!   For those of you who were able to enroll your children, we thank you, and look forward to a fun and educational arts experience with our dedicated teachers and their volunteers.

April Events at CSAC–It’s Spring!

Annual Celebration of the Arts in Schools– Student Exhibit and Concert
Reception: Saturday, April 6th from 1:00 to 4:00
Students from grades K-12 show their talents in a number of media. Prizes are given to students in a variety of categories. The opening reception features performances by: The Fiddle Gang, Poetry Out Loud finalists, performances by vocal students and professional musicians from our community. Light Refreshments will be served. (this annual event is made possible through local grants, Umpqua Bank, Front Porch, and the California Arts Council.)

KASA, Kid’s Art Studies Academy Rolls Out Their First Session
April 5th 4:00 to 6:00
is the start date for Irene Taylor’s Watercolor Class
April 9th 4:00 to 6:00 is the NEW date for Jan Palemone’s perspective drawing and painting classes.

Pam Houston Writing Workshop  at the Historic Dome Property
Friday, April 12th, 10:00-12:00 noon
Pam Houston’s workshop will be held at 251 Barretta Street. The workshop will focus on “turning the stuff of your life into story.” These events are sponsored by the Columbia College Foundation, and are free to the public. Discover Your Own Visual Language with Artist Patricia Cherry

Local artist Patricia Cherry is offering painting instruction at her Studio/Gallery, in East Sonora. This is an intimate, one on one class for beginners, intermediate and advanced artists working in watercolor or water Soluble Oils. The class is designed to help artists discover their own personal painting language and voice.

THIS IS AN “INDIVIDUAL START TIME CLASS”–which means that you can begin any time, as instruction is individualized to you and your goals. The three hour class is held every Monday from 8:30 to 11:30ish. Monthly fee $120.00. Class size is limited to six artists.
