Giving to the ARTS

Central Sierra Arts Council welcomes your generous support. There are many ways that you can join our efforts to…

“Strengthen Tuolumne County through the ARTS!”

Central Sierra Arts Council is a 501c3 nonprofit organization

DONATION OPPORTUNITIES–Thank you for considering a tax-deductible gift to CSAC.

Currently donation checks should be mailed to us at Central Sierra Arts Council, 48 S. Washington St., Sonora, CA 95370.  In the near future, we hope to have a PayPal feature on this page.  You will receive a thank you letter that includes our IRS Tax I.D. number for your own tax records.

Your generous donation can make things happen!  And you can determine the priority for your giving; just write your area of interest in the check memo.  Here are some areas where we offer focused giving opportunities:

  • The George Post Gallery–Nonprofit cooperative gallery of high quality works of art

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES–Generally mileage expenses for volunteer efforts are tax deductible.  Be sure to ask your tax consultant.

  1. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: This person makes things happen!  If you’re good with phones, computers, databases, emails and a bit of Facebook, we could really use your help!  The Volunteer Coordinator works with us to make sure that all of our special projects have volunteer staff to help out.
  2. GALLERY GREETER: We’re sincerely searching for 5-10 folks who would like to help in the George Post Gallery once a month.  Do you like people?  Are comfortable guiding people  and engaging in a little chit-chat?  Are you attentive to details for sales slips and making sure that all of the sales accounting is done correctly?  How about hanging out in the George Post Gallery and listening to good local music for one day a month?  Then this is your ticket!  We can arrange for you to volunteer for a full day (12-5pm) or a half-day (12pm to 2:30pm) OR (2:30pm to 5pm).
  3. NEWSLETTER TEAM: Four times a year we need a great team to help us put on address labels and sort the quarterly newsletter for mailing.  Enjoy a couple of hours sitting in the George Post Gallery with a bunch of nice people!
  4. OUTREACH COMMITTEE: Join us for various community events to help promote CSAC.  We’re looking for a few great people, who would like to help staff a booth for the Sonora Christmas Faire, the Mother Lode Home & Garden Show and the Seniors’ Faire.
  5. EXHIBITION TEAMS: Each art exhibition requires its own special team.  To handle the art during the jurying process; to set up the show; to plan the reception; to take down the show.  Maybe  you’d enjoy being a part of these great public events.
  6. CSAC HISTORIAN: Do you have a penchant for the past?  We need someone whose job is to gather newspaper articles, exhibition fliers, newsletters, letters of support and compile them into an accessible archive.  We need someone who can make sure that our triumphs and our follies stay a part of recorded history.

WISH LIST FOR THE ARTS–”Wish List” items are considered to be in-kind donations.  Donors will receive thank you letters that outline the type of gift that was given for their tax reporting.  Here are some types of in-kinds that would be helpful…

  • Donated Space for Central Sierra Arts Council’s Headquarters.  Right now we’re spending upwards of $20,000 a year on RENT.  Just think what we could do with that money if we didn’t have to pay rent?  Do you have a good suggestion?
  • Portable HVAC System for HQ & George Post Gallery
  • Printer Supplies and Ink
  • New or gently used copy machine for large printing  jobs.
  • Signage & Banners for the George Post Gallery and CSAC Outreach Committee
